> Defining Stock in Bins

Complete the Parts form (SMPART), the Stores form (SMSTOR), the Lots data form (SMLOTS), and the Stock form (SMSTOC) prior to entering information on the Stock in bins form (SNSTBN).

You can also define stock in bins on the Stock page of the Parts form (SMPART).

The primary difference between the Stock in bins form and the Rapid entry of stock items per store form is that you cannot create new parts on the Stock in bins form.

Follow these steps to define stock in bins.

  1. Open the Stock in bins form (SNSTBN).

  2. Store—Click to select the store where the parts are held.

  3. Part—Click to select the part.

  4. Bin—Click to select the storage bin where the parts are held.

  5. Lot—Click to select the lot number, or batch, of the parts.

  6. Quantity—Enter the number of parts in the bin that do not need repair.

  7. Price—Enter the price of the part.

Datastream 7i uses the value entered for Price to populate the price column in the R5FIFO table. Datastream 7i automatically populates Price with the base price of the part if the part already exists in the selected store. You can modify the price as necessary; however, you must enter a value for Price. Price cannot be null.

  1. Quantity to be repaired—Enter the number of parts that need repair.

  2. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
