Status Update
10/24/2025
HFIR has experienced an unplanned shutdown. While performing required testing following necessary maintenance on one of the Reactor's Safety Channels, electronic noise induced in the testing circuitry caused one of the control rods to insert, shutting down the reactor. The reactor will remain shutdown until a decision is made to finish Cycle 512B or enter the next planned Outage.
