Set up triggers to send e-mail messages whenever certain events occur in the Datastream 7i database. Create database triggers for a defined table based on the e-mail template. Define the parameters and constraints of each e-mail trigger.
Follow these steps to create e-mail triggers.
Open the Messenger trigger definition form (BXMAIL).
Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.
Table—Click to select the table for which to define the e-mail trigger.
Mail template¾Click to select the e-mail template to be sent when this trigger is activated.
Select one or more of the following events:
Update—Select to receive e-mail when an update occurs in the table.
Insert—Select to receive e-mail when anything is inserted into the table.
Delete—Select to receive e-mail when anything is deleted from the table.
Old status—Click to select the original status of the table or entity.
New status—Click to select the new status of the table or entity.
Description—Enter any comments to be attached to the trigger.
Click the record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view tab.
Click Create mail triggers. Datastream 7i generates the e-mail trigger.
