The inbox displays notifications (inbox entries) of changes in the Datastream 7i database on the Home page. Examples of inbox entries are the number of requisitions that currently require approval or the number of work orders with associated warranties for which there have been no claims submitted.
Users can call hyperlinked functions necessary to complete actions or activities associated with inbox entries by double-clicking the inbox entry. For example, launch the Purchase requisitions form (SMREQS) directly from the inbox entry to approve the requisitions requiring approval. A where clause entered for inbox entries automatically queries for and retrieves the records associated with an inbox entry to the called function.
Inbox entries can be assigned to specific user groups or defined as general entries that are displayed for all users. After personalizing the inbox, set system privileges for users to modify their inbox by adding and/or deleting entries and modifying the order and sequence in which entries are displayed.
