When booking hours for work, Datastream 7i calculates the labor cost for the booked hours based on the Hourly rate specified for the Occupation type when defining the trade rate for an employee or trade that is selected to perform the work. Datastream 7i then charges the labor cost for the booked hours to the appropriate work order, asset, or project. When booking hours, Datastream 7i first checks to see if an Hourly rate is defined for the employee. If so, the hours are booked at that rate. However, if you have not defined trade rates for the employee, Datastream 7i assigns the Hourly rate defined for the trade on the Trade rates tab of the Trades form (WNTRAD) to the hours booked for the work.
